Description: Assist LRC teachers to provide direct services for qualifying students; provide 1:1 support for highly impacted students; understand and carry out oral and written directions; implement education program and behavior programs. Provide reading, writing, small group instruction, and behavior interventions.
Requirements: Two years of college, associate’s degree or passing score on a para-professional exam in reading, writing and math as required by federal law. Experience working with students in a school setting. Understanding of various disabilities. Must be able to: (1) become MANDT certified; (2) work with young adults with extreme behavior; (3) follow prescribed medical and emergency protocols; and (4) work independently and maintain positive relationships with staff, specialists, students, and parents. Employment contingent upon fingerprinting.
Qualifications Desired: Experience working with students with ASD. Good communication skills. Experience working with elementary school age students.
Classification/Location: Classified, Regular at Dundee Elementary
Calendar/Benefits: 7 hours per day when school is in session. Range SPED 7 of the 2020-21 Classified Salary Schedule TBD (was $14.91 - $16.54 per hour in 2019-20), current staff consult the contract.
