Start Date:  As soon as possible after hire.

Description:  Cleaning and maintaining multiple buildings during the evening (3:00 pm - 7:30 pm).  Assure a safe and sanitary environment for students and staff as well as the public who use our facilities.  Respond to emergencies as needed.

Requirements: High school diploma or GED, Medic First Aid card, and a minimum of two years of custodial experience.  Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment used in the custodial field and knowledge of carpet care, hard floor care, and restroom care.  Skilled in cleaning, use of cleaning equipment and materials, and district email and software systems. Ability to: (1) complete minor maintenance tasks;  (2) monitor inventory and coordinate with the physical plant department to assure adequate stocks of supplies; (3) reset boiler to ensure proper building temperature; (4) read, write and speak the English language;  (5) work independently and with minimal supervision; (6) follow oral and written instructions; (7) perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.; (8) keep records; (9) lay out and assign work tasks; (10) facilitate after school use of buildings and grounds as approved; (11) develop and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, employees, students, and public.

Qualifications Desired:  Good communication skills. Knowledge of carpet care, hard floor care, and restroom care.  Ability to learn skills needed to perform the job.

Classification/Location:  Classified, Regular, Full-Time Position

Calendar/Benefits: 8 hours per shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM); 260 days per year.  $14.27 - $15.83 per hour (Range 6 of the 2020-21 Classified Salary Schedule, current staff consult the contract).
