Description: Teach migrant preschool students in pre-literacy skills, fine motor skill development, and social skills using culturally appropriate strategies; design and adopt appropriate curriculum materials; assess student progress; supervise educational assistant; maintain classroom discipline; present program for parent night; communicate with parents as needed.
Requirements: Associates degree or equivalent experience; two years successful experience teaching migrant students; fluent English; native fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing); strong communication skills; ability to design curriculum and assessment tools for use with migrant students; knowledge of appropriate instructional techniques for language minority students; demonstrated abilities in classroom organization and behavior management; understanding of social/ cultural issues affecting migrant students and families. Commitment to attend all staff in-service meetings.

Classification/Location: Classified, Temporary, Part-time position at Edwards Elementary
Workdays: July 6 – July 29, 2021, plus professional development day TBD and 4 hours for clean up July 30, 2021.
7.25 hours per day for 15 days and professional development TBD. (Actual working hours may vary, schedule TBD at a later date.)
Summer School Days: July 6 – July 29, 2021 Monday - Thursday (student contact days)
Wage: $17.98 – $19.92 (Range 11 of the 2021–22 Classified Salary Schedule, current staff consult the contract)
